Rupak Bhattacharjee is one of the most established,celebrated and popular names in the field of classical percussion music over the Globe.He was introduced to the world of music through tabla, at the age of four, by his father Arun Bhattacharjee. He then took his further training from Sri Mrinal Kanti Bakshi in Farukabad Style. Later, he got the blessed opportunity to hone his talent under able guidance of the living legend,PtAnindo Chatterjee.
Rupak stood first in AIR music competition and achieved the President's award in 2004.
Rupak, an "A -TOP” grade artist of AIR & DOORDARSHAN.
He performed with guru Pt.Anindo Chatterjee on duet tabla solos in several concerts.

Rupak’s crisp tonal quality, modulation, presentation of difficult, rare compositions with extreme speed, clarity & sweetness, overall, profound approach towards the art of playing tabla has earned praises of great masters of our music and placed him as a leading tabla exponent of younger generation.

রণজিৎ সেনগুপ্ত মহাশয় গল্প দাদুর আসরে ওনার ছোটবেলায় বাজিয়েছিলেন তখন ছিলেন পারথো ঘোষ গল্প দাদুর আসর পরিচালনা করতেন তখন আমি ছিলাম ছোট আজো মনে আছে সেনগুপ্ত মহাশয় এর সরোদ বাদন বেশ কিছুকাল আগে অখিল ভারতীয় সঙ্গীতানুষ্ঠানে এক শনিবার রাত দশটায় শুনেছি ভারি সুন্দর হয়েছিল অনুষ্ঠান

Tabla is excellent both in style and depth. Masidkhani gat is visible. Keya Baat, Keya Baat !! Sarod is of its own style bringing the tinge of "Yog" in a smooth flow. Rupak, what I have listened from others today I have felt. My Guru Lt. Pt.Kanai Dutta and Ustad Keramatulla Khan Sahib would have been very happy to listen your "Bolbani".

Excellent performance👍👏👏👏 I see you keep the beat with your knees. If you ever want to play foot-percussion while playing tabla, for practice or so, I've uploaded a "Tabla table" on Printables. Just needs a few 3D-prints, a wood-board with cutouts at the edges for knee-space and cajons or stools as a podium and seat.
